Q: Tell me a little about yourself.

I’m a lifelong Wisconsin resident. I’m very passionate about TV & Film. I received a Bachelors degree in Radio TV Film from UW Oshkosh and already have a feature length documentary under my belt. I also enjoy reading, writing, running, cooking and spending time with my husband and one year old son.

Q: What made you interested in politics?

Two words: Scott Walker. Walker’s attacks on public unions and working families had a direct affect on my life because my husband is a state worker. I did what I could to try and fight back: I marched with 100 thousand protesters in Madison. I went door to door to gather signatures for Walker’s recall. But Walker still rammed Act 10 through, and over the course of the last six years, we have seen my husband’s income decrease. It was a wake up call to how much of a negative impact just one elected official can have on our lives. Now that I’m a parent, I worry about my son’s future and that is my main motivation for staying informed and keeping engaged in the political process.

Q: What made you interested in working for PTP?

I became interested in PTP because I believe in the objective of getting more progressives out to vote. I also wanted the opportunity to talk face to face with voters again after I did the same for Bernie Sanders Campaign.

Q: What’s your secret to getting someone to commit to vote?

Besides being a fast talker, maintaining eye contact, and being overly enthusiastic, I think just being overly nice to them is really what has worked wonders for me. If I know they are in a hurry, I will cut right to the chase and ask them if they will commit to vote and ask them remaining questions as they fill the card out. Persistence as well as being personable is also effective.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience as a field rep?

My most memorable moment canvassing was when I met a woman named Judith, who, after I complimented her on all of her plants that she had on her front porch, cut off a few stems of a plant of hers and gave them to me so I could grow them myself. She said she was grateful for what I was doing and wanted to give me a “thank you” gift for doing something so important. It really made my day!

Q: What is the one thing you can’t live without?

My son! I know it’s cliche, but now that he’s here, I can’t imagine my life without him.
