Brett Kavanaugh Must Immediately Withdraw His Nomination to the Supreme Court
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement regarding the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh:

“The sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh are horrifying and we are calling on him to immediately withdraw his nomination to the Supreme Court.”

“We believe survivors who share their stories and we believe in their right to protect their identities. As this case continues to be investigated by the FBI, the American people deserve a Supreme Court nominee with a record of supporting women and their rights.”

“Senator Chuck Grassley knew of this allegation before it came to light this week. Despite his attempts to hide this part of Kavanaugh’s record, he was prepared to counteract the accusation and has tried to discredit the claim. But survivors of sexual assault and misconduct must be believed. This absolutely disqualifies Kavanaugh from serving on the Supreme Court.”

“The reaction to this accusation shows why women are fearful of coming forward about their experiences with sexual harassment and assault. Survivors have every right to maintain anonymity when accusing someone of assault. While Brett Kavanaugh’s record on women’s rights was already disqualifying for the position he’s been nominated for, these recent allegations are further proof that he cannot be trusted to serve on our nation’s highest court. He must immediately withdraw his nomination.”
