Progressive Turnout Project Congratulates Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Tina Smith, and Angie Craig on Minnesota Primary Victories
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement regarding the Minnesota Democratic Primary Election:

“Congratulations to Senators Amy Klobuchar, Tina Smith, and congressional candidate Angie Craig on tonight’s victories in Minnesota. This summer, Progressive Turnout Project has knocked on more than 30,000 doors across the 2nd congressional district and collected nearly 5,000 commitments to vote. Our team is going to continue pounding the pavement between now and Election Day and we look forward to doing everything we can to defeat Jason Lewis and Minnesota Republicans up and down the ticket on November 6.”
“Minnesota is home to not one but two critical Senate races this fall as well as a whole host of competitive congressional races. The path to Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate runs through the North Star State and it’s vital that the Democratic party invests in these races.”
“Perhaps nothing underscores the importance of these elections more than the impending nomination hearings of Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. We thank Senators Klobuchar and Smith for their early opposition to this dangerous nominee as this Judge seeks to overturn Roe v. Wade and rip away affordable healthcare from millions of Americans.”
“Meanwhile, in the House, Republican Jason Lewis voted for a tax scam that gives a trillion dollars in tax breaks to big corporations and adds 2 trillion dollars to the debt. Lewis has been voting against the interests of the 2nd district and we believe that when voters see his record they will vote to replace him with Angie Craig.”
“Now that we have our nominees, Progressive Turnout Project is ready to roll up our sleeves, grab our clipboards, and do everything we can to elect Amy Klobuchar, Tina Smith, and Angie Craig in November.”
Progressive Turnout Project is on pace to spend at least $300,000 in Minnesota’s 2nd congressional district as part of a previously announced 18 district field program. The organization has an office and staff based in Eagan.
