Our 2020 Endorsement Slate

Today was a big day for all of us at PTP. We officially announced our largest EVER slate of endorsements — 101 candidates! These bold Dems aren’t just leaders who can run great campaigns, they have the skills, experience, and dedication to protecting and expanding our democracy.

COVID-19’s IMPACT ON THE ELECTION

Since the pandemic began, Republicans have used the coronavirus outbreak as a cover to suppress the right to vote. As always Trump has said the quiet part aloud, tweeting that “Republicans should fight very hard” to oppose voting by mail because it “doesn’t work out well for Republicans.”

We saw in Wisconsin what happens if we don’t have voter protections during this crisis: 90% of polling places shuttered in Black communities, poll workers who put themselves at risk and end up testing positive for COVID-19, Republican judges allowing thousands of ballots to go uncounted, and millions of voters forced to choose between their right to vote and their safety.

Democrats see a threat to the health of our democracy. Republicans see their path to victory in November.

That’s why Progressive Turnout Project is putting all of our resources towards fighting voter suppression and electing Democrats who support voting reforms like universal vote-by-mail, same day voter registration, and expanded early voting.  If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that now is the time to unite as Democrats and turn out for candidates up and down the ballot. Flipping the Senate and White House and defending the House is the only way that we ensure that Republicans don’t further erode the right to vote.

We’re in the fight of our lives in 2020.

OUR 2020 PLAN

To get these candidates elected, we’re going to run the largest national field program in the country. We’re going to knock on over 10 million doors and mobilize millions of voters who don’t always turn out at the ballot box. We need every Democrat to turn out this year if we want to send Joe Biden to the White House, our 16 endorsed Senate candidates to Washington, and our 84 Congressional candidates to the House.

We have a HUGE opportunity to take back the Senate this year, and our Congressional  candidates are critical not only for defending the House, but expanding it. Every candidate on our list is someone we know and trust to help make gains in the fight to expand voting access, put an end to political gerrymandering, and back key legislation like H.R.1 and H.R.4.

All of the candidates listed below are counting on Democrats like us to show up for them at the polls so they can show up for us in office. If you want to help expand the Blue Wave with us this year, join us in getting out the vote!
