Progressive Turnout Project Announces 2021 Ohio Special Election Endorsements

CHICAGO – Today, Progressive Turnout Project (PTP), the nation’s largest Democratic voter contact organization, announced its endorsement of Allison Russo OH-15 and Shontel Brown OH-11 in the November 2, 2021 Special Election. Below is a statement from Progressive Turnout Project’s Executive Director, Alex Morgan:

“This fall, Ohioans have an opportunity to send a message to Washington that it’s time to Build Back Better in communities across the Buckeye State. Allison Russo and Shontel Brown will stand up for middle- and working-class Ohioans, not billionaires or special interests, which is why Progressive Turnout Project is proud to support their campaigns for Congress. Over the next 26 days, PTP and our supporters will do everything we can to have meaningful conversations with voters, and get them the information they need to cast their ballots in this critical special election.”

Below are a statements from Allison Russo and Shontel Brown regarding Progressive Turnout Project’s endorsement:

“I’m proud to have the support of the Progressive Turnout Project in the fight for OH-15. This special election is our only opportunity to flip a red seat blue before the midterms and send a message to the country that Democrats can win in these competitive races. Together, we’ll ensure that working Ohioans have representation in Washington that’s fighting for them — not special interests,” said Allison Russo, Democratic candidate for OH-15.

“I am grateful for Progressive Turnout Project’s grassroots efforts to increase the Democratic voter turnout and humbled by their endorsement for Congress,” said Shontel Brown, Democratic candidate for OH-11. “As the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party chair, I repeatedly delivered the state’s highest voter turnout during the midterm and presidential elections, and we stand united in our goal to increase voter participation. In Congress, I will work to ensure the right to vote is protected and expanded because our democracy is stronger when more people participate.”
