Progressive Turnout Project Applauds Pete Buttigieg’s Douglass Plan to Defend Democracy
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement:

“Pete Buttigieg’s Douglass Plan is thorough and thoughtful, focused on repairing previous damage done by voter suppression and working to expand voter access for future generations. We applaud Buttigieg’s call to reauthorize preclearance under the Voting Rights Act and eradicate discriminatory gerrymandering practices.”
“Buttigieg has done his homework on the history of redistricting and voter suppression in America, and his plan makes it clear that he will make democracy reform an issue on day one of a new administration. As we continue this presidential campaign, we hope to see more candidates share their plans for protecting voting rights and fixing our broken democracy.”
“Progressive Turnout Project does not plan to endorse candidates in the 2020 primary. We are proud to have a strong field of candidates who are bringing democracy reform and voting rights issues to the forefront of the debate. We believe democracy reform is the only way to deliver a better, stronger democracy for the American people.”
