Progressive Turnout Project Calls for Immediate Removal of Donald Trump
CHICAGO — Progressive Turnout Project calls on Vice President Mike Pence to convene and mobilize the Cabinet to activate the 25th Amendment to declare the President incapable of executing the duties of his office.
PTP Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement:
“On Wednesday, Donald Trump cemented his place as the worst president in American history by inciting the insurrection at the United States Capitol in his effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Trump has violated his oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution through his efforts to undermine our democracy. He is not fit to serve one more day in office. Vice President Pence must immediately convene the Cabinet to activate the 25th Amendment. If he doesn’t, the House of Representatives must swiftly move to impeach the president, and the Senate must vote to convict him for his crimes and remove him from office. Our country cannot afford to wait.”
