Progressive Turnout Project Condemns Amy Coney Barrett Confirmation Eight Days Before Election Day
“Tonight’s confirmation vote is the culmination of a sham process. At every step, President Trump and Senate Republicans have revealed their priorities: raw power comes first, and the American people are an afterthought.
“Over 60 million Americans have already cast their ballots, but the only voters Trump cares about are the 52 Republican senators who confirmed Amy Coney Barrett.”
“Quite simply, Amy Coney Barrett is not someone voters can trust. During her confirmation hearings, she refused to answer whether presidents should commit to a peaceful transfer of power. President Trump has repeatedly suggested that he nominated her to suppress voters and resolve election disputes in his favor.”
