Progressive Turnout Project Congratulates Phil Murphy on Victory in New Jersey
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement after Phil Murphy’s victory in New Jersey:
“Tonight Democrats in New Jersey won an important election with Phil Murphy’s victory in the gubernatorial election. ”
“Phil’’s victory proves that voters are ready for a progressive agenda after eight years of Chris Christie’s corruption in the Governor’s mansion.”
“Progressive Turnout Project congratulates Phil Murphy and his campaign on their victory tonight and we know New Jersey can count on him to advance progressive legislation across the state.”
PTP dispatched staff to Sussex County in the final week of the campaign to knock on doors and encourage supporters from across the country to make calls into the critical region.
New Jersey’s election was the first statewide election since the 2016 presidential election and Democrats came out as clear winners going in to 2018.
