Progressive Turnout Project Congratulates Xochitl Torres Small on Victory in New Mexico
Grassroots-funded organization spent more than $21,000 on digital ads to boost Democratic turnout

CHICAGO —Progressive Turnout Project congratulates Xochitl Torres Small and her team on a hard-fought victory in New Mexico’s 2nd congressional district. In total, PTP spent more than $21,000 to boost Democratic turnout in support of Torres Small and Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.
“When others questioned whether or not we could really build the Blue Wave, we invested in races like Xochitl’s where we know she will bring real representation to her district for the first time in a decade,” said Executive Director Alex Morgan. “We’re excited to add another voting rights champion to the United States Congress.”
PTP sent data-driven and research-proven digital ads to more than 16,000 inconsistent Democratic voters asking them to commit to vote, make a plan, and go to the polls. The targeted digital ads resulted in more than 1 million impressions.
“Our targeted digital programs have been proven to boost Democratic turnout by as much as 3 percent so we’re confident that our campaign played a major part in Xochitl’s win,” said Morgan.
Overall, Progressive Turnout Project hired and trained more than 400 staff in 72 battleground districts and states where they ran or supported field programs. This includes more than 300 staff who were part of 18 independent expenditure field programs. The grassroots-funded organization increased its reach by investing in an additional 80 races, where they ran targeted digital and mail programs to get out the vote.
