Progressive Turnout Project today endorsed Mike Siegel (TX-10) and Candace Valenzuela (TX-24) for Congress.

Below are statements from Progressive Turnout Project’s Executive Director, Alex Morgan:

On Mike Siegel:

“Mike Siegel gets it, and Progressive Turnout Project is excited to endorse him in Texas’s 10th.

“Mike’s a teacher and civil rights lawyer. He’s standing up for progressive policies that will improve regular, working people’s lives, like universal healthcare, more funding for our public schools, and Housing for All.

If we elect Mike and more people like him, more Texans and Americans will have the opportunity to live a better life.”

On Candace Valenzuela:

“We need more people like Candace Valenzuela in Congress. She knows what it’s like to take a second job to pay her health care bills. She knows what it’s like to be homeless. She knows the struggles that our public schools face, and that our military families face.

“That’s why she’s running — to make health care more affordable, to make housing accessible to everyone, and to improve our public schools.

“After 15 years of stagnancy from Kenny Marchant, voters deserve action. Candace Valenzuela understands, and that is why she will make a great member of Congress.”
