Progressive Turnout Project Launches GOTV Program in Arizona Special Election
30-person field team will go door to door during critical GOTV weekend

PHOENIX— Progressive Turnout Project will send 30 staff members to get out the vote in support of Dr. Hiral Tipirneni ahead of the April 24th special election in Arizona’s eighth congressional district. The organization will invest more than $60,000 to turnout voters in the critical final weekend leading up to Election Day.
“Progressive Turnout Project is proud to support Hiral Tipirneni in this special election,” said Executive Director Alex Morgan. “Our work in Virginia, Alabama, and Pennsylvania proved that we can win in even the most unlikely districts and that’s what we plan to do again on Tuesday.”
Arizona’s 8th congressional district includes the suburbs north and west of Phoenix and was carried by Donald Trump in 2016. However, Democratic enthusiasm has been higher than usual in special elections and this race is no exception. Recent polling shows this race in a dead heat, with Tipirneni up by 1%.
Progressive Turnout Project staff will go door to door talking with inconsistent Democratic voters about the importance of voting in Tuesday’s special election.
“When Democrats come out to vote, we win. With our efforts, we’re looking forward to a strong showing on Tuesday,” said Morgan.
