PROGRESSIVE TURNOUT PROJECT PROTESTS TRUMP’S VOTER SUPPRESSION COMMISSION MEETING IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Gathering to defend the rights of Granite Staters and voters everywhere, Progressive Turnout Project (PTP) protested the Pence-Kobach Commission meeting on “Election Integrity” in Manchester, New Hampshire today.
Outside of the commission meeting at Saint Anselm College, hundreds of protestors spoke out to demand the Trump administration respect Americans’ right to vote. Armed with signs and stickers proclaiming “Don’t Mess With Our Vote,” PTP staff and volunteers joined allies from America Votes, New Hampshire Young Democrats, New Hampshire ACLU, and other local organizations to stand against voter ID laws, voter roll purges, and other GOP-endorsed tactics to restrict voting rights.

“On the shoulders of Donald Trump, the Pence-Kobach Commission is determined to deny legal voters nationwide their freedom to vote. Meeting in New Hampshire, a state at the forefront of voter suppression, we forcefully condemn Trump’s assault on democracy with the goal of shrinking the power of young people, people with lower-incomes, and people of color,” said Senior Advisor Tracy Mayfield.
Progressive Turnout Project targets competitive legislative and congressional districts with specialized field programs to turn out inconsistently voting Democrats. Right now, the national PAC has staff on the ground in North Carolina to organize around gerrymandering and in Virginia to turn out Democrats in the upcoming November 2017 elections.
In the 2016 cycle, the organization ran voter turnout programs in 19 congressional races. PTP has raised $5 million from 110,000 donors so far this year.
