Progressive Turnout Project Raises $3.2 Million in 3rd Quarter
Grassroots-funded organization raises $1.4 million in September

CHICAGO — Progressive Turnout Project raised $3.2 million in the 3rd quarter with $1.4 million raised in the month of September, putting the grassroots-funded organization at $16 million raised for the 2018 cycle. PTP aims to take back the House and Senate with the support of more than 232,000 small-dollar donors who on average contribute $13.70.
Their efforts focus on targeted communication with inconsistent Democratic voters in the most competitive parts of the country. The organization refuses to spend a single dollar on non-targeted communication like television ads.
“We started Progressive Turnout Project with the goal of having early, targeted conversations with inconsistent Democratic voters in the most competitive House and Senate races in the country,” said Executive Director Alex Morgan. “September’s incredible fundraising numbers have fully funded our current on-the-ground programs and allow us to expand our reach to even more competitive races from coast to coast.”
Progressive Turnout Project has more than 200 staff on the ground across 18 congressional districts. In September, PTP staff surpassed more than 1 million doors knocked for the year, making it one of the largest field programs in the country.
They recently announced a $1.8 million digital GOTV investment that will support 31 additional candidates. The organization also endorsed 55 House candidates and will announce further plans to support those candidates in the coming days.
“Our team has been pounding the pavement since June, knocking on doors and having hundreds of thousands of conversations with voters about what’s at stake in this election,” said Morgan. “We’re not going to let up until the polls close in 36 days.”
