Progressive Turnout Project: Today’s Primaries A Reminder that Cities, States, and Congress Must Take Action to Protect Voting in November

“Today’s primary elections show that cities, states, and Congress must take immediate action to make voting safe, secure, and accessible during this pandemic.

While we were pleased to see several states expanding vote-by-mail, we were outraged to see reductions in polling sites and curfews disproportionately impacting black and brown voters.

Progressive Turnout Project will knock on 10 million doors this summer and fall to help voters make a plan to vote in November. It is crystal-clear that so many voices have long been silenced or ignored, and we need cities, states, and Congress to step up and make sure all voters’ voices are heard this November.” Alex Morgan, Executive Director, Progressive Turnout Project

Progressive Turnout Project is a grassroots-funded political action committee with a single mission: get Democrats to the polls. PTP designs, tests, and executes specialized voter-turnout programs targeting inconsistent Democratic voters in the most competitive elections across the country. In 2020, the organization will invest $52.5 million to knock on over 10.1 million doors and get out the vote in 17 presidential and Senate battleground states.
