Progressive Turnout Project Condemns Congress for Leaving Out Vote-by-Mail Out of $484B “Phase 4” Deal

“Democrats have made a completely unforced error by agreeing to another COVID-19 deal that lacks critical election safeguards during this pandemic, including universal vote-by-mail plans, online voter registration, and extended early vote options. Shame on Senate Democrats for leaving these essential election protections off the table when we are just months away from the general election where Americans will have to choose between their right to vote and possibly, their lives.

If we want to have any chance of taking back the Senate and White House in November, voters need to see Democrats fighting for them — not caving to McConnell yet again.” Kait Sweeney, Communications Director, Progressive Turnout Project

Progressive Turnout Project is a grassroots-funded political action committee with a single mission: get Democrats to the polls. PTP designs, tests, and executes specialized voter-turnout programs targeting inconsistent Democratic voters in the most competitive elections across the country. In 2020, the organization will invest $52.5 million to knock on over 10.1 million doors and get out the vote in 17 presidential and Senate battleground states.
