Progressive Turnout Project Announces First Round of 2018 Endorsements
Organization backs 7 House candidates in competitive congressional elections

CHICAGO— Progressive Turnout Project released its initial round of 2018 endorsements this morning as part of its effort to take back the House and Senate in November. The candidates are Katie Porter (CA-45), Joe Neguse (CO-02), Sean Casten (IL-06), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), Antonio Delgado (NY-19), Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), and Elaine Luria (VA-02).
“The road to take back the House starts with these seven districts where we have to defend seats that have had progressive champions and elect Democrats in districts that need better representation in Congress,” said Executive Director Alex Morgan.
Today’s endorsements are part of a larger effort by Progressive Turnout Project to expand its impact in the 2018 election. The organization asks campaigns to complete an endorsement questionnaire that asks about critical voting rights issues such as the restoration of the Voting Rights Act, automatic voter registration, early voting, no-excuse absentee voting, and voter ID laws.
“Progressive Turnout Project is dedicated to expanding the electorate and getting out the vote, so it’s only natural that we support candidates who are going to help strengthen those efforts when they have a seat at the table,” said Morgan.
The organization will continue to announce endorsements as it receives and reviews completed candidate questionnaires.
