Progressive Turnout Project Applauds Board of Elections Decision in NC-09
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement regarding the decision by the North Carolina State Board of Elections:
“Today’s decision by the North Carolina Board of Elections is a win for democracy and voters in the 9th congressional district who are long overdue for real representation,” said Alex Morgan, Executive Director of Progressive Turnout Project.
“After a thorough hearing, it is clear that Democratic votes were literally stolen ahead of the November election in an effort to favor Republican Mark Harris. We fully support the board’s decision to call for a new and fair election and look forward to North Carolinians making their voices heard and deciding who deserves to represent them in Washington.”
“Progressive Turnout Project looks forward to getting our team on the ground in the 9th congressional district as soon as possible to work to increase voter education and participation ahead of the special election.”
