Progressive Turnout Project Commends Tom Steyer’s Plan for Democracy Reform
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director Alex Morgan released the following statement:

“Even though he’s just entered the race, Tom Steyer clearly understands that our democracy is broken, and he has a plan to fix it. A proponent of the For the People Act (H.R. 1), the Voting Rights Restoration Act (H.R. 4), the Native American Voting Rights Act, and other voting reform legislation, Steyer is focused on immediate ways he can advance democracy reform on day one of the next administration.”
“Steyer knows that fixing our democracy must be the first order of business if we want to address any other major issues like education, gun violence prevention, or immigration reform. As we continue to see platforms from others in the presidential race, we hope that every candidate releases their own democracy reform plan to share with voters.”
“Progressive Turnout Project does not plan to endorse candidates in the 2020 primary. We are proud to have a strong field of candidates who are bringing democracy reform and voting rights issues to the forefront of the debate. We believe democracy reform is the only way to deliver a better, stronger democracy for the American people.”
