Progressive Turnout Project Congratulates Senator Bill Nelson and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell on Florida Primary Victories
Progressive Turnout Project Executive Director released the following statement regarding the Florida Democratic Primary Election:

“Congratulations to Senator Bill Nelson and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell on tonight’s victories in Florida. This summer, Progressive Turnout Project has knocked on more than 50,000 voters’ doors across the 26th congressional district and collected more than 3,000 commitments to vote. Our team is going to continue pounding the pavement between now and Election Day and we look forward to doing everything we can to defeat Rick Scott, Carlos Curbelo, and Republicans up and down the ticket on November 6.”
“Bill Nelson has been a champion for Florida’s middle and working class families for decades. He’s a crucial voice and vote against Donald Trump’s reckless agenda and we must re-elect him to the Senate this fall to provide a check on the president.”
“For four years, Carlos Curbelo has consistently voted for a radical Republican agenda, breaking his promises to DREAMers and going as far as supporting Donald Trump’s plans for a wasteful and disgraceful border wall.”
“On November 6, Florida voters have an opportunity to replace Carlos with a real representative for the 26th congressional district in Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. Debbie is a first-generation American who knows what it means to pull herself up by her bootstraps and she has dedicated herself to helping others through her work at places like Florida International University. Debbie has lived the American Dream and she is the best candidate to lift up the voices of south Florida residents in Congress.”
“Progressive Turnout Project is on pace to spend at least $350,000 in Florida’s 26th congressional district as part of a previously announced 18 district field program. The organization has an office and staff based in Miami.”
“Now that have our nominees, the Progressive Turnout Project team is ready to roll up our sleeves, grab our clipboards, and do everything we can to elect Bill Nelson and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in November.”
