Progressive Turnout Project Endorses Sean Casten in IL-06
Candidate one of seven initial endorsements by national voter turnout organization
CHICAGO—Progressive Turnout Project today endorsed Sean Casten in Illinois. The organization proudly stands alongside the candidate dedicated to preserving the integrity and health of American democracy.
“Sean Casten is the only candidate in this race who fundamentally understands the threats facing our democracy and elections,” said Executive Director Alex Morgan.
Casten recently held a press conference will Senator Dick Durbin about election security and the candidate highlights his strong commitment to the right to vote with nine specific points on his website.
“We’re thoroughly impressed with Sean’s deep understanding of the threats we face at the ballot box and we applaud his concrete vision for how we expand and protect the right to vote for all Americans,” said Morgan.
Today’s endorsements are part of a larger effort by Progressive Turnout Project to expand its impact in the 2018 election. The organization asks campaigns to complete an endorsement questionnaire that asks about critical voting rights issues such as the restoration of the Voting Rights Act, automatic voter registration, early voting, no-excuse absentee voting, and voter ID laws.
