Progressive Turnout Project Launches Turnout Tour
Grassroots-funded organization to sponsor free buses to send volunteers from DC to campaign in battleground congressional districts

CHICAGO—Progressive Turnout Project is sponsoring charter buses to send volunteers from Washington, D.C to get out the vote in nearby battleground districts in the crucial final weekends leading up to Election Day. The organization will send buses to three different districts: Andy Kim in New Jersey’s 3rd congressional district, Susan Wild in Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district and Abigail Spanberger in Virginia’s 7th congressional district.
“As we enter the home stretch of the 2018 campaign, we need to do everything that we can to reach as many Democrats as possible and remind them that their vote can make a real change in Washington,” said Executive Directory Alex Morgan.
“With DC being only a few hours away from some of the most competitive congressional districts, we wanted to give folks the opportunity to pitch in and help get out the vote,” said Jesse Barba, EDGE Co-Founder.
PTP has partnered with District Democrats and Electing a Democratic Generation (EDGE) to sponsor the weekend trips that kick off this weekend. One bus will run from D.C each weekend, except on the last weekend where a bus will travel to all three districts. The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 13: Andy Kim (NJ-03)
Saturday, October 20: Susan Wild (PA-07)
Saturday, October 27: Abigail Spanberger (VA-07)
Saturday, November 3: All Three Districts (NJ-03, PA-07, VA-07)
Progressive Turnout Project has hired and trained more than 300 staff in 18 battleground districts and states where they are getting out the vote ahead of the crucial November election. The organization recently increased its reach and is investing in an additional 53 races as Democrats look to take back the House and Senate in November.
