Progressive Turnout Project to Support Annette Taddeo in Crucial State Senate Special Election
Group to Provide Staff and Mobilize Supporters Ahead of Tuesday Election

MIAMI — Progressive Turnout Project will support Annette Taddeo in Tuesday’s State Senate special election. The organization plans to send staff to Florida’s 40th District and will mobilize its supporters to knock on doors and make phone calls to voters in the final days of the campaign.
“Annette Taddeo is a progressive champion who will fight for Floridians, not special interests. Progressive Turnout Project is proud to support her as she stands up for Miami-Dade residents,” said Executive Director Alex Morgan
Florida is known for being a presidential swing state, but Republican gerrymandering has given the GOP an unfair advantage in the state legislature and as many as 5 extra seats in Congress. The Brennan Center for Justice has highlighted Florida as one of the worst gerrymandered states in the nation. As a result, Florida Republicans have passed some of the worst voter-suppression laws in the country.
“Florida’s 40th District is a crucial swing seat in the State Senate and key to ending Republican gerrymandering in the sunshine state,” said Morgan.
